US Supreme Court Issues Decision on Wisconsin Maps

Wednesday, March 23 – The US Supreme Court decides to throw our Wisconsin’s legislative maps – just three weeks before signature-collecting starts.

Read the decision here.

It was not too long ago that the maps were approved due to meeting the “least change” requirement that the Wisconsin Supreme Court ordered as a way to prevent gerrymandering. So Governor Tony Evers submitted fairer maps that met these requirements. But the Supreme Court argued that these maps contained a racial gerrymander.

Despite this, these maps will be used in the election this fall. But the stat will be required to fix the current maps or approve different ones for the next term of districting maps.
